. Fr. Dick, Mrs. Krill, Phillip Green (our new parish business manager), and I met this past week with Rich Leichleiter, the President of CEF. He wants to make sure we share this message: If you want your children to attend a Catholic School, there is assistance available!
My seventh grader came home this past week from school with a list of things he wants to work on during Lent. So often we think of giving up tangible things for Lent, but I loved what he showed me. In addition to giving up sodas, this is what he had written in his iPad notes:
What to give up for Lent...
Give up complaining -- focus on gratitude
Give up pessimism -- become an optimist
Give up harsh judgments -- think kindly thoughts
Give up worry -- trust Divine Providence
Give up discouragement -- be full of hope
Give up bitterness -- turn to forgiveness
Give up hatred -- return good for evil
Give up negativism -- be positive
Give up anger -- be more patient
Give up pettiness -- become mature
Give up gloom -- enjoy the beauty all around
Give up jealousy -- pray for trust
Give up gossiping -- control your tongue
Give up giving up -- hang in there and have faith, always!
I am grateful to be a part of this wonderful community. Thank you for allowing me to serve your families.
Many Blessings this Lenten Season,
