Letter From the Principal
Dear Families,
In preparing for our faculty meeting this week I was watching an excerpt from 60 minutes where they were highlighting an amazing teacher. I was thinking that I would share this with our faculty but when I started walking around our school I was reminded how amazing our teachers are.  So...... I video taped some absolutely incredible examples of our teachers doing what they do best...... engaging students in learning through a variety of learning techniques that would truly "knock your socks off!"  I am so proud of the small group work and individualized instruction our teachers are using to personalize learning.
Today, in our principals' meeting we were to come up with two words that would describe something positive going on in each of our school communities.  This was easy for me because every day I am amazed at the extreme generosity of our school parents.  I have just a few examples of late.  Vic Szydlowski gave his entire day last Friday from 7:00 a.m to 3:00 p.m. to make certain our campus was secure and to be close by if he was needed. Jeremy Krieger, our School Advisory Board President, makes himself available 24/7 to advise, promote, and lend an ear when needed.  He stays objective and focuses on the entire school community never his own desires.  Ben Evans has spent numerous hours working hard to make sure the School Advisory Board works to it's capacity. Jessica Gearlds, Nikki Tyler and Jon Yancey volunteer here so often one would think they were full time employees. Frank Kapfhammer drops off gift cards and scratch offs for our teachers randomly.  Gary Grieshaber and Chris Bonbright have spent countless hours planning and setting up a Long Range Planning Committee There are many others that give of their time and talent so often.  Please know the time and talent you give us is greatly appreciated and it doesn't go unnoticed.

Registration for current families and new families is underway. Please make every effort to send in your registration forms by the deadline.  It will help us in planning for next year.

I understand the morning carpool in unpredictable, especially in this cold, rainy and snowy weather. Please be patient; buses are in our future.
Distance learning or Snow-day protocol will only go into effect after we have had two days off from inclement weather.  Please let us know if you have questions or concerns.  We may get through this school year without any snow days.
Have a wonderful week,
Stacy Tackett

Student Technology Team

Congratulations to the members of our new Student Technology Team.  These fifth through eighth grade students completed an application and submitted a teacher recommendation form to be considered.  They did an excellent job on their applications and will be a great asset to St. Michael.  Student Technology Team members will be trained assist staff and students with basic technology assistance.  They will be our student experts on Google Classroom, Sycamore, wireless access and more.  They will meet monthly to discuss new ideas and projects for the community as well.  The first project on the horizon is a video contest for middle school contest.  More details to come.  New members will be awarded personalized uniform polos with "Student Technology Team" on the sleeve and St. Michael lanyards.
