Letter From the Principal
Dear Families,
Today was the first day of the second trimester.  Report cards  will be ready by Monday, November 23rd at 10:00 a.m.for viewing on Sycamore. On Wednesday, November 18th the Kentucky Department of Safety will be here from 7:20 to 12:30.  If you have an interest in meeting with them, please contact me before Tuesday at 2:00.
Since we set our clocks back one hour last week, I am amazed at how much difference one hour makes in the mornings.  Driving to work I see a glorious sunrise but it really hits me late in the afternoon when I am leaving work and look out side to a darkening sky. Time continues to be an intriguing subject to me. On some occasions it seems so elusive. Whoosh, there goes a week.... a month. Yet there are so many segments of time that pass with the speed of a glacier. When you want time to zip on by, it drags. Then, when you want it to slow down to a crawl , it's tomorrowalready. My grandmother used to say, "time can be a great healer, but it's a rotten beautician" and "two weeks on a vacation is never the same as two weeks on a diet."
All this being said, I truly can't believe it is almost Thanksgiving. We only have five and a half days of school until the break. And, just twenty days of school until Christmas break.  This time of year especially time can get away from us.  We all have so many commitments and so much to do we sometimes forget what is really important.  I have come full circle with this business of time lately as I can't seem to get caught up or keep up. Then I remember; He is the only One who "changes the times and the seasons" (Daniel 2:21). I especially like the way David put it, But as for me, I trust in Thee, O Lord, I say, "Thou are my God." My times are in Thy hand. (Psalm 31:14-15)

This Thanksgiving season I am thankful that I am a part of this wonderful St. Michael Community. These past three weeks I have spend a lot of time in classrooms and I thank God for the wonderful, loving, caring, dedicated teachers, who come early and stay late to make sure your kids get their absolute best.  There are a lot of great things going on at St. Michael School.

Many Blessings,
Stacy Tackett
